The Process

Rooted in abstract expressionism, my work on enamelware begins with instinct and ends somewhere unexpected - exploring movement, blue hues, the push and pull between gestured marks and intricate detail. Each work balances spontaneity and control; the planned and the unexpected, held in tension.

  • Inspiration & Intuition

    The early stages are led by colour, movement and the first marks - sometimes instinctive, sometimes with a clear vision already forming.

    In the studio I respond to the metal surface directly. What the enamel does, where the paint moves, what the brush leaves behind, these are as much a part of the work as anything planned.

  • The Making Process

    Acrylics, inks and latex are combined and layered with fluid techniques alongside deliberate and loose brushwork, building depth through each pass.

    I love blue. It anchors the work. Organic forms and circular gestures guide the brush across the metal surface; each mark responding to the one before it.

  • Completion & Connection

    Finished works are framed in a matte black finish and are available as original artworks or limited edition canvas prints.

Why do you paint on enamelware?

My background in sculpture has deeply influenced my approach to painting. I’ve always been drawn to exploring different materials and processes - that experimental nature stayed with me.

Hard surfaces like enamel, glass, and resin allow me to create dynamic and striking pieces. These materials offer a unique way for the paint to move and settle—capturing moments of flow that feel both striking and serene.

I love creating art that feels unique, distinctive and captivating, offering viewers something different to experience and connect with.

How are the Original artworks framed?

Framed in a bespoke contemporary deep black frame with 99% UV protection glass.
